The Support Worker provides direct support to individuals participating in our Second Stage Housing project. The role includes assisting clients in developing life skills, accessing community resources, and progressing toward successful independent living.
This is a permanent, full-time position totaling 37.5 hours per week (7.5-hour shifts). The schedule is rotating and includes daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, depending on operational needs.
Education/Experience
Degree, diploma, or certificate in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Mental Health & Addictions, Indigenous Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or Human Justice), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience supporting clients facing mental health challenges, addictions, domestic violence, homelessness, and/or justice-related issues.
Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, values, and beliefs.
Familiarity with community resources and referral processes.
Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
First Aid/CPR and Mental Health First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Clear Criminal Record Check.
