Description

Mainstay provides engineering and owners representative services to help mining companies in Canada manage their capital construction and maintenance projects. Our multidisciplinary teams of qualified professionals have successfully overseen billions of dollars worth of projects in mining. The Junior Designer will have the ability and experience to contribute with our team and achieve Mainstays business goals and objectives. The Junior Designer should be comfortable working with a mining group, have a strong mechanical aptitude, desire to learn, and good problem solving and communication skills. As Mainstay is a young, growing company, the designer should be willing to help define and adapt the role to fit with their needs and those of the company.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical/structural 3D modeling, drawings, and simulation
Drawing reviews and document checking
As-built drawings
Creating additional documentation as required
Field verification and checking at client sites  
Recommend and help develop improved design standards
Maintain and develop client relationships based on project performance
Project coordination and tracking with a focus to monitor progress, schedule, and budget
Working with team members to collaborate on project deliverables, including reports
Holding team members accountable  
Work at client sites based on project requirements
Other tasks as required
Skills / Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in mechanical engineering technology and/or CAD/CAM.
2+ years of experience.
Must possess strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without Mainstay sponsorship at time of application.
