Duties and Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one employment counselling for newcomers.
Identify barriers to employment and support clients in developing their career action plans.
Assist clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing rsums, and preparing for job interviews, among other tasks.
Assess clients' needs for assistance with educational credential evaluations, financial assistance, and further training and refer clients to the appropriate services
Stay updated on labour market trends and effective job search techniques.
Gather labour market information for clients about job vacancies, skill sets, and other occupational details.
Refer clients to employment readiness workshops and other alternative employment programs and events organized by the department.
Refer clients to other RODS services or external organizations as appropriate
Enter client data into the database, record, update and maintain clients' progress notes, and submit monthly and annual reports to the Employment Services Manager
Follow up with clients for employment maintenance and evaluation
Connect with the job developers to access the hidden job market and employment opportunities for clients.
Carry out other position-related duties as required
