Description

We are seeking an experienced Credit and Risk professional who is committed to excellence in risk management and credit operations, and who is passionate about fostering a high-performing team culture while ensuring sound credit decisions and effective loss mitigation.

As the Credit and Risk Operations Manager, you will provide leadership in credit and risk operations, legal recovery, and departmental management. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and managing risk specialists, you will ensure adherence to credit policies, oversee complex portfolio management processes, and contribute to the development of lending strategies and products that support WCUs goals. This role requires strong judgment, collaboration across departments, and a focus on delivering excellent experiences to both internal teams and external members. We require someone experienced, flexible, and ready to work in an environment where tasks and processes may be unique and still evolving.

Your SPARK (Qualifications):
Undergraduate degree in Business or a related field plus 57 years of progressive experience in credit, risk management, or lending operations. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of credit risk principles, collections, and legal recovery processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Ability to work independently under broad managerial direction and adapt to changing priorities.
Knowledge of the credit union system or banking industry is considered a strong asset.
