Saskatoon Public Schools is the largest school division in Saskatchewan, serving nearly 29,000 students with the support of more than 3,300 dedicated professional and support staff. Our division includes 48 elementary schools and 10 secondary schools, including a flexible learning program for artists and athletes, and a unique partnership school Charles Red Hawk Elementary School located on Whitecap Dakota Nation.
Saskatoon Public Schools invites applications from individuals interested in caretaker weekend/evening positions and/or caretaker fireman positions within the school division. Under the general supervision of the immediate supervisor, the caretaker performs a range of functions to ensure school division facilities provide a safe, clean, learning, and working environment. These positions require evening shifts (3 p.m. 11 p.m.) and day shifts in the absence of the building operator.
Applicants for caretaker positions must possess a grade 12 or equivalent. Caretaker Fireman positions require a valid Saskatchewan Department of Labour Firemans or better certification. Applicants must have the ability to utilize email, process maintenance requisitions, supply orders and the energy management system. Strong interpersonal skills combined with effective problem solving and decision making skills are essential.
