Description

Duties and Responsibilities:  
The Education Coordinator supports all aspects of educational programming and services for the GGFN community from early childhood to high school, ensuring that education is culturally relevant and high quality. The Education Coordinator is responsible for program administration and coordination, community engagement, student support, acting as a liaison while developing partnerships, creating and maintaining agreements, and reporting on all activities.

Develop educational policies and practices, including review, development and implementation.
Manage and facilitate meetings at various levels (i.e. schools, community, provincial, and federal).
Communicate with, which may include presentations, and build relationships with the Horizon School Division and related government agencies, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:  
Minimum of two (2) years experience with First Nation or provincial
education or in a school setting.
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Education or related field.
Extensive program management, budgetary, and reporting experience.
A comprehensive understanding of First Nation issues and education.
Experience working with school boards, ISC, and educational authorities is an asset.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven self-motivator and results driven.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Creativity and innovation skills.
Ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks in a busy work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Possess a valid Saskatchewan class five (5) drivers license.
Applicants must provide a criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.

Salary will be based on experience, training, and education. This permanent full time role reports directly to the Director of Operations. Refer to website for full posting.
