Description

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Summer Student to provide support to the Finance team. This position offers hands-on experience in accounting and financial operations, including invoice processing, payment initiation, accounts receivable transactions, claim processing, and other related accounting functions as required. The successful candidate will gain practical knowledge of financial workflows in a dynamic research environment, making this an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a career in accounting or finance.

Representative Duties:
- Enter invoices and ensure accurate data entry into financial systems.
- Initiate payments and assist with payment processing.
- Prepare and process accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
- Code and verify financial documents for accuracy.
- Process expense claims and reimbursements.
- Perform other accounting and administrative functions as required.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at the Edwards School of Business, preferably majoring in Accounting, and returning to studies in the fall.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
