Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Corporate Services team is seeking a Director, Artificial Intelligence to set up and lead SRCs Artificial Intelligence (AI) function. This role will develop and deliver SRCs AI strategy and organizational AI framework. The Director will work closely with SRC Divisions to deliver high-value AI projects and services that improve internal performance and applied AI offerings for external clients.
Accountabilities
-Develop and implement an organization-wide AI strategy and multi-year roadmap to support applied research, operational excellence, and commercial growth
-Establish an enterprise AI framework and operating model, including governance structures, intake and prioritization processes, ethical AI standards, data and model lifecycle practices, and performance measurement
-Identify, define, and prioritize high-impact AI opportunities across operational and industrial domains
-Champion the deployment of transformative AI technologies and processes that drive measurable improvements, foster impactful innovation, and secure SRCs position as a leader in the field
-Build and maintain a long-term resource and capability plan for the AI function, including skills development, staffing capacity, budget forecasting, tooling needs, and future demand planning
Qualifications
-Bachelors degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
-Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, advanced analytics, applied research and development, or technology commercialization
The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
