The Water Truck Operator is a vital member of the Public Works team, responsible for delivering water to community residences and facilities.
This role requires a service-oriented individual who is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of the Muscowpetung community.
Core Responsibilities:
-Water Delivery: Safely transport and deliver portable water to residential holding tanks and community cisterns following a scheduled route.
-System Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of the water tank and delivery system to provincial and federal health standards.
-Vehicle Care: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Ensure the truck is fueled, lubricated, and that the pump/hose systems are winterized and functional.
-Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of daily deliveries, water volumes, and vehicle maintenance records.
-Community Relations: Interact with community members in a respectful and professional manner. Report any observed issues with residential water systems to the Public Works Coordinator/Supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications
-Licencing: Minimum Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake (A) Endorsement. (Class 1 preferred).
-Experience: Experience operating heavy tandem-axle trucks, preferably in a delivery or utility capacity.
-Technical Skills: Knowledge of water pumping systems and basic mechanical aptitude for minor troubleshooting.
-Knowledge: Familiarity with the roads and geography of Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation.
-Compliance: Ability to provide a clean Driver's Abstract and CPIC.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
-Ability to work outdoors in all Saskatchewan weather conditions (extreme heat and cold).
-Ability to handle heavy hoses and equipment, and climb onto the truck/tank as required.
-Must be available for occasional emergency on-call shifts (e.g., water outages or fire support).
