Description

The Ministry of Social Services invests in positive outcomes for people in areas of income support, child and family services, supports for persons with disabilities, and affordable housing. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is devoted to helping others and improving the lives and well-being of children and families to join our team as a Child Protection Supervisor in our Buffalo Narrows office. In this role, you will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative, and support services to children and their families using the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.

In this position, you will:
- Supervise, train, support, coach, and monitor the quality of care/practice provided by Child and Family Program staff who deliver a variety of services to families.
- Lead and assist in managing change within the work unit and the service area.
- Provide Structured Decision Making  (SDM) model training and support to the ministry, Indigenous Child and Family Services, and Mobile Crisis Service/Emergency Duty staff, and other community partners and agencies on an ongoing basis.
- Provide leadership on the implementation of policies, procedures, services, and community resources.
- Work effectively and positively with supervisors, colleagues, and the management team to support initiatives, directions that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families.
- Ensure that standards and quality of service are met.
- Liaise, consult, and respond to inquiries from a variety of outside stakeholders.
- Represent the unit, ministry, or service area on various agency, community, or internal committees.
