Description

The Ministry of Social Services invests in positive outcomes for people through income support, child and family services, supports for persons with disabilities, and affordable housing. We work with citizens to build better lives through economic independence, strong families, and strong communities.

The Business Transformation team is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst for a two-year term. This role focuses on optimizing financial systems and business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the ministry. You will contribute to major projects that enhance payment system functionality, implement policy and operational changes, and support new program development.

We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of providing financial expertise on IT projects and leading process improvements. You will build relationships with internal teams, service providers, and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and financial policies.

Key qualifications include knowledge of ministry programs, policies, business processes, and financial standards. A degree in commerce or business administration with related experience is required; a CPA designation is considered an asset. Strong communication skills and the ability to analyze data, identify issues, and recommend solutions are essential.

Responsibilities may include developing risk mitigation frameworks, establishing an internal audit process, creating training programs, and supporting policy development.
