Description

The North Service Areas are seeking Child Protection Workers for the Buffalo Narrows office to deliver services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act. You will provide protective, preventative, and supportive services to children and families using the Family Centered Case Management Model. Responsibilities include investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, assessing family functioning, determining safety risks, developing intervention plans, and offering ongoing support. When required, you will initiate and navigate Family Court processes with families. For children admitted to Ministry care, you will coordinate placements, assessments, and treatment planning to meet their health, social, psychological, and educational needs, including longterm planning when necessary. This work often involves collaboration with First Nation Child and Family Service agencies. The role requires travel, flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and transporting children or parents. All applicants are encouraged to apply, with Indigenous representation prioritized. Candidates must clearly outline how they obtained their knowledge, skills, and abilities, as this will guide selection. A Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university approved by SASW/CASW or CASWE is required. Flexible hours and travel are essential. More information about the Ministry of Social Services is available on the Government of Saskatchewan website.
