Tree planters are responsible for planting thousands of tree seedlings every day while meeting contract quality specifications. For 8 hours a day, Tree Planters traverse long distances over uneven, steep, or rugged terrain, often carrying 40 lbs. or more of tree seedlings. Throughout the season, planters must maintain high productivity in all types of weather including rain, heat, and cold, while also being exposed to many insects. This requires good physical fitness and stamina, as well as determination and perseverance.
Tree Planters are paid for each tree they plant. When a planter works very hard and is very motivated, they can plant anywhere from 2000 to 4000 trees in a day. This can mean average daily earnings of $350 to $650, depending on the tree price for the type of ground.
