OVERVIEW
The Coordinator Assistant reports directly to the Director of Development and supports the Community Engagement team across various areas including events, fundraising, volunteer management, adoptions, and customer service. The ideal candidate enjoys public interaction and presents as confident, outgoing, and positive.
QUALIFICATIONs
- Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License
- Strong team player with the ability to take direction from supervisors
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools is an asset
- Experience in customer service is an asset
- Previous work in a non-profit setting is an asset
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Assist with volunteer and animal supervision during events
- Transport animals and materials to/from events
- Help plan and organize special events
- Provide administrative support to the Community Engagement team
- Participate in promotional activities as needed
- Provide orientation to volunteers
- Participate in media opportunities (TV/radio) as needed
- Capture and upload photos to various platforms including social media, website, and Canva
- Other duties as assigned
NATURE OF WORK
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Local travel will be required
- Must demonstrate compassion for animals and commitment to the mission of the Saskatoon SPCA
- Must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and uphold the organizations reputation at all times
