Description

The City of Weyburn is a dynamic and progressive community located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan. The city has a population of over 10,500 and a solid economic and community foundation upon which new opportunities are continuously built.
The Parks Worker is responsible for performing a variety of laboring activities to maintain parks and green space infrastructure and operations.  

    Assisting the Parks Technician with Urban Forest operation activities such as removing and clearing debris;
    Assisting with weed control;
    Assisting with irrigation operations;
    Assisting with cemetery operations;
    Assisting with maintenance within parks;
    Assisting with snow removal;        Assisting with the maintenance of flowers, shrubs, flower beds, and other landscaping duties such as prep work;
    Assisting with turf/grass maintenance;
    Assisting with garbage collection;
    Performs other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Grade 12 or equivalent GED.
    Certificate in WHMIS required, First Aid preferred.
    Possession and maintenance of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 license required.

Experience
    No previous municipal experience required.
    Previous experience performing manual labour considered an asset.
    Knowledge in operating power and hand tools considered an asset, but not required.
