Description

We are looking for a full-time Accounting Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with preparing individual and corporate tax returns, performing bookkeeping tasks, and supporting senior staff in a variety of accounting and tax projects.

There is also a possibility for this position to transition into a full-time role based on performance and firm needs.

Key Responsibilities

-    Prepare personal and corporate tax returns (T1, T2), GST, etc.
-    Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
-    Perform bookkeeping and data entry using accounting software
-    Ensure compliance with CRA regulations and deadlines
-    Support senior accountants with year-end engagements
-    Maintain accurate electronic and paper files in accordance with firm procedures

Qualifications

-    Diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance (or currently in progress)
-    At least 1 year of experience in accounting and tax preparation
-    Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems
-    Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
-    Good verbal and written communication skills
-    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
