The Engineering Technologist works with a team responsible for the performance of technical duties related to analysis, design, contract and project management, field supervision and quality control of Capital projects related to transportation, water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm water and environmental management.
This position will perform the following duties:
-Develop priorities and schedule for annual Capital Works Program related to City infrastructure
-Prepare draft Request for Proposal (RFP) and Tender documents for capital projects
-Provide project management of assigned projects
-Track expenditures and monitor cost and project changes, provide updates and reports
-Develop, implement and evaluate capital programs. Prioritize the work and analyze effectiveness of current programs
-Review commercial subdivision development servicing drawings for review and approval as requested
-Participate in communications and meetings with stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required
-Research and prepare various reports for the consideration of Administration and City Council
-Knowing, understanding and abiding by the City of Moose Jaw Safety Policy, applicable Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety legislation
Qualified applicants will possess:
-University degree in Engineering, or a related field, eligible for registration with a Provincial organization (APEGS P.Eng, EIT) OR
- A post-secondary Diploma in Engineering Technologies and 3 years related experience in municipal project management OR
- An Engineering Technician Certificate and 5 years related experience in municipal project management
- Ability to operate AutoCAD and standard office computer software
-Eligible for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist in Saskatchewan
-Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
-Class 5 drivers license
