Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Clerk is responsible for data entry and related tasks in processing accounts payable and payroll, including preparing payroll, submitting ROEs, reviewing payment requests, coding and filing documents, and assisting with year-end audit materials. The role requires strong knowledge of funding agreements and close coordination with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate coding and cost reallocations.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Payroll processing, including preparation of payroll and submission of Records of Employment (ROEs)
GST reporting and CRA remittances
Accounts receivable processing:
Input revenue received to appropriate programs
Invoice outside funding agents for recoverable expenses as directed
Monitor and maintain accounts receivable
Prepare bank deposits and perform daily banking duties
Bank reconciliations
Maintain the General Ledger and sub-ledgers, ensuring all financial transactions including payroll and ROEsare recorded accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner across all FDFN entities
Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare for the year-end audit
Perform other duties as required by the FDFN Accounting Department
Qualification, Skills & Abilities:
Two (2) years of relevant experience with a computerized accounting system (SAGE).
Education in Accounting and/or Office Procedures.
Appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered.
