Accountant
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accountant will be a key member of the PFM Capital Accounting Team. The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and reports and analyzing, processing, and reconciling financial information. The Accountant will gain exposure to a variety of accounting concepts including reconciliation, reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
The Accountant will execute the following responsibilities:
- Perform month-end journal entries
- Analyze and complete month-end reconciliations including bank accounts and other general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Assist with invoice processing
- Assist with accounts payable cheque and disbursement process
- Investigate, validate and complete accounting corrections where required
- Perform daily and weekly reconciliation of cash accounts
- Complete and file GST, PST and T4 filings
- Assist with annual audit requests and deliverables
- Assist with compliance reporting
Qualifications
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong communication skills, and an interest in private equity accounting. The position will provide exposure to all areas of the manager's accounting processes and the opportunity for growing involvement in decision-making. Applicants require a diploma or degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting supplemented by two years of relevant work experience.
