Job description - Position Summary
The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is seeking a dependable, alert, and community-minded Security and Safety Attendant to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all clients, staff, and visitors. This role is crucial to support our mission of serving vulnerable newcomers and to provide a secure setting for language classes, test sittings, and support services. The Security and Safety Attendant reports directly to the Director of Language, Employment and Childcare Services and plays a key role in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and safety of everyone who enters the facility.

Job Description - Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain a visible and reassuring presence in and around the building during evening hours and weekend events.
Screen clients entering the building to ensure only authorized individuals access the premises after regular hours.
Monitor entrances, hallways, and common areas to deter misconduct and prevent unauthorized access.
Respond promptly and calmly to incidents, safety concerns, or disturbances; apply de-escalation techniques when needed and document incidents accurately.
Coordinate and communicate with staff to ensure safety protocols are followed and assist with emergency procedures if required.
Foster a respectful, dignified environment for clients and staff; respond to inquiries and provide general assistance when possible.
Perform other duties as assigned
