The successful candidate will play an integral role in a vibrant and energetic team and should be able to manage a variety of duties engaging with Community Leaders, members, employees, contractors, various agencies and the public. Under the direction of the Director of Administration the Project Assistant will be focused on a variety of administrative and communication tasks that support the contractors and office. This includes coordination of logistics, and assistance with general administration.
Responsibilities:
Organize meetings, attend, prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute them.
Book travel, including hotels and airfare's, meeting venues, catering, security as directed.
Create, file, and maintain documents, reports, presentations and records.
Provide support to various contractors, committees and staff as directed.
Assist with lands and caribou management.
Work with knowledge keepers.
Contributes to the positive reputation and profile of DNNLC.
Ensures tasks are completed in the allotted time frame and all information is clearly communicated in a manner consistent with the DNNLC mission and values.
Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education certificate or diploma from a recognized educational institution with two years relatable experience.
Strong speaking, writing and presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working with First Nations or other Indigenous Communities.
Strong communication, presentation and mediation skills are essential (written and oral).
Organizational and time management skills are necessary.
Ability to set, commit and meet deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
Mature, professional, and optimistic.
Ability to speak Dene is considered an asset.
