Description

The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre (Food Centre) is an industry leader in contract research, manufacturing and incubation, supporting food, beverage, and ingredient innovations from concept to commercialization. We are a collaborative, team-oriented organization with certified facilities serving local and global clients.
We have an immediate opening for a Process Specialist to join our Advanced Food Ingredients facility. This role is integral to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant processing operations while supporting innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 25 years of hands-on experience in food or ingredient manufacturing, including supervisory or lead-hand responsibilities. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, CFIA regulations, and occupational health and safety. Proven troubleshooting and process improvement skills, experience with SOP development and strong organizational and communication abilities. Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance are assets. Ability or willingness to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and scissor lifts. High attention to detail, integrity, adaptability and commitment to food and workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, monitor, and shut down extraction, isolation, and drying processes. Support equipment assembly, commissioning, cleaning, and validation activities. Coordinate materials and workflow, troubleshoot process issues and improve efficiency while reducing waste and utilities. Develop and maintain compliant process documentation and support HACCP, GMP, 5S and safety programs. Train operators, participate in client meetings and continuous improvement initiatives, prepare project estimates, and perform related duties as assigned.
