Description

Chief Paskwa Education Centre is seeking a dedicated and skilled Literacy Interventionist to join our educational team. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and administrators to support literacy development and improve reading outcomes for all learners.

Position: Literacy Interventionist
Location: Pasqua First Nation School
Start Date: 2025-26 School Year
Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is found

Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted literacy interventions to students identified as needing additional support.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective literacy strategies.
Track and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports.
Utilize assessment data to guide instruction and intervention planning.
Support professional learning for staff in literacy best practices.
Engage parents and caregivers in supporting student literacy at home.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education or related qualification in literacy or reading intervention.
Knowledge and experience with literacy intervention programs and best practices.
Knowledge of the Confident Learners Program is considered a strong asset.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Previous experience working with First Nations students is an asset.
