The Part-Time Communicable Disease Outreach Registered Nurse will provide essential health-related support within Muskoday First Nation. Under the direction of the Muskoday Community Health Centre Health Director, this position will primarily be working closely with the Community Health Nurse and the community health representative outreach worker, focusing on clinical care, prevention, education, outreach, and intervention for our nation members.
- The Communicable Disease Outreach Registered Nurse will assist in improving HIV prevention, testing, treatment, adherence, and support services to reduce HIV transmission and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV and those who are at risk of HIV.
Qualifications:
- A Registered Nurse degree (BSN)
- Good standing with the College of Registered Nurses
- This part-time position would likely require experience working in the areas of communicable disease outreach field work or some level of postsecondary area related to this position.
- Experience or knowledge in lab work, immunizations, and networking with other services.
Work Conditions:
Pressure point: Vehicle availability, and busy schedules; travel in a variety of weather conditions; program direction changes; client non-compliance with the medication, and client transience.
Services are provided in a community setting and in outreach, which may present many unknown variables.
Flexible hours. Weekend, evening, or holiday work may be required during programming.
