Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tow Truck Operator to join our team. This role involves safely and efficiently towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with various towing equipment, and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. Prior experience with automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and operating specialized vehicles such as flatbeds and forklifts is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to transport vehicles safely and securely.
Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
Perform basic automotive diagnostics, and mechanical assessments to determine the best towing approach.
Assist with automotive repairs or minor mechanical troubleshooting as needed.
Manage customer interactions professionally, providing clear communication and resolving conflicts effectively.
Maintain accurate records of all tow operations, including vehicle details and destinations.
Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks, create logs and related equipment info to ensure proper functionality.
Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws during vehicle transport operations.
Utilize additional equipment such as forklifts when necessary for vehicle handling or storage.
Requirements
Valid 1A or 3A drivers license with commercial driving endorsement preferred.
Proven experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
Mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or diagnostics is a plus.
Ability to operate manual transmissions and understand vehicle mechanics.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
Experience with automotive diagnostics, load & unload procedures, and mechanical troubleshooting.
