Position Summary
The Cook supports the Ocean Man Education Centre by preparing nutritious, safe, and appealing meals. The Cook will ensure compliance with food safety standard, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and support a positive experience within the school environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Meal preparation and serving according to Canada Food Guide
Menu plan will be left with substitute cook.
Primary food preparation is to be done by the cook only.
Prepare a list detailing student and their food allergies.
Order groceries and supplies within budget provided.
Organize kitchen and supplies.
Keep kitchen and supplies sanitary
Assist teachers with classroom cooking.
Attend in-services on non-scheduled school days as deemed necessary to fulfill professional development requirements.
Any other duties assigned by the principal or portfolio holder.
Qualifications
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education or related field is an asset.
Experience cooking or good preparation, preferably in a school, daycare or institution.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitization standards.
