Position Summary

The Early Childhood Educator provides daily programming, care and supervision to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years in the Regina Open Door Child Care Centre within a team environment according to Saskatchewan Early Learning and Child Care regulations and centre policies and procedures.

Requirements

This individual must be professional, friendly, possess excellent communication skills and have knowledge of and experience with child-centered, play-based early childhood practices. Early Childhood Educators must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively within a team setting.

Saskatchewan Early Childhood Education Certification-Level 1, 2 or 3
Minimum 1 year experience working in a Canadian daycare is preferred
Valid First Aid/CPR C
Criminal Record Check-including a Vulnerable Sector Check
Knowledge of/experience with Saskatchewan child care regulations and the Early Learning Program Guide (ELPG)
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Good oral and written communication skills

Hours of work for this position are 8 hours per day Monday to Friday within the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm, with an unpaid 30 minute break. All positions at RODS require a clean criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector check

Hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.94 to $21.19 depending on SK Early Childhood Education certification level. There will also be an additional Ministry of Education monthly wage enhancement bringing the wage up to $21.41 to $29.28 per hour, depending on certification level.
