SoilRocks Consulting Inc. is growing, and were looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan as Utility Locator / Field Technician (Experienced).

About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced utility locator or technician who takes pride in accurate, safe, and efficient fieldwork  and enjoys supporting a range of geotechnical and environmental projects. Beyond locating, youll assist with drilling operations, EM31 geophysical surveys, site flagging, and aggregate or environmental field assessments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform underground utility locates using electromagnetic and geophysical equipment prior to drilling or excavation.
Review and interpret One Call records, site plans, and as-built drawings.
Collect and record field data using GPS, sketches, and photos.
Operate and assist with EM31 geophysical surveys for aggregate and environmental investigations.
Support the drilling crew with setup, sampling, flagging, and safe site operations.
Assist with environmental and materials sampling (soil, aggregate, groundwater).
Maintain locating and testing equipment, ensuring calibration and readiness.
Promote and uphold a strong safety culture at all times.
Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in underground utility locating (electromagnetic or geophysical).
Valid Class 5 drivers licence with a clean abstract and ability to travel within Saskatchewan. A Class 1 licence is an asset.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
Capable of working outdoors in varying site and weather conditions.
Experience with EM or similar subsurface mapping tools considered a strong advantage.
Experience working with or around drill rigs is an asset.
