Description

The Ministry of Social Services invests in positive outcomes for people through income support, child and family services, supports for persons with disabilities, and affordable housing. We work with citizens to build better lives through economic independence, strong families, and strong communities.

We are seeking dynamic individuals devoted to helping others and improving the lives of children and families as Child and Caregiver Support Workers in the Meadow Lake office. In this role, you will provide protective, preventative, and support services using the P.R.I.D.E. model and Family Centered Case Management Model.

You will manage casework and resource planning for children in care, foster families, and extended family caregivers; deliver training and facilitate support groups; conduct family assessments for prospective caregivers; facilitate placements and provide post-placement support; assist caregivers in planning for childrens best interests; and liaise with First Nations Child and Family Services and community agencies. Completing documentation to professional standards is required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to relationships and community, apply critical thinking in risk assessments, and ensure stringent protocols for file transfers. Knowledge of multicultural beliefs and values, particularly First Nations and Metis, and understanding of poverty and systemic issues is essential. You will advocate for clients to access services, remove barriers, and promote well-being.
