Description

Under the general direction and supervision of the General Manager of Leisure Services and the direct supervision of the Leisure Services Supervisor.
This position is responsible for the efficient care, maintenance, and operation of municipal arenas, parks, pools, equipment, and facilities, in accordance with the Town of Nipawin/CUPE Local 777-01 collective Agreement.

Required Competencies:
*Strong personal initiative with the ability to work independently.
*Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, coworkers & the public.
*Safe and efficient operation of various equipment including front-end loaders, skid steers, mowers, tractors, chainsaw and other parks and facility equipment.
*Operation of an ice-resurfacing machine.
*Sound knowledge of horticultural practices such as fertilization, aeration, pruning, seeding and sod installation
*Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in cold indoor environments
*Physically demanding work; must be able to lift up to 50lbs
*Flexibility availability for shift work, including evenings and weekends.

Work hours will include day, evening and weekend shifts
