Description

The Ministry of Trade and Export Development is seeking a highly motivated and organized professional for a less than nine-month term as Executive Administrative Assistant in the Strategic Policy and Analysis Branch. This role offers an opportunity to support senior leadership and contribute to the ministrys mandate of advancing trade and economic development.

We are looking for an individual with strong office management and administrative expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to communicate confidently with officials, colleagues, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and able to provide sound administrative advice and issues management support.

Candidates must have extensive knowledge of office management practices, government structure, protocols, and purchasing/payment procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Midas, Taleo, and SharePoint is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to accurately format documents, are required. Typically, these competencies are gained through a certificate or diploma in office administration or business education combined with several years of senior administrative experience in government.

Key responsibilities include managing administrative and procedural issues, reconciling financial reports, assisting with staffing processes, processing invoices and expenditures, coordinating meetings, and preparing materials for events and trade missions (no travel required).
