Description

The Ministry of Social Services is seeking term Childrens Service Workers for Nipawin and Melfort offices. This role provides protective, preventative, and support services to children and families using the P.R.I.D.E. and Family Centered Case Management models. Join a team committed to improving outcomes for children in care and supporting caregivers.

We are looking for individuals with a sincere commitment to relationships and community, who demonstrate critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills. You will practice from a place of connection, advocate for clients, and work collaboratively with families, foster caregivers, First Nations Child and Family Service agencies, and community organizations. Cultural competence, particularly regarding First Nations and Metis values, and understanding of poverty and systemic issues are essential.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university; OR a Human Service Degree plus relevant experience; OR a Social Work Certificate plus related experience. Human Service Degrees include Sociology, Psychology, Education, Human Justice, Indigenous Studies, or Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing. Out-of-country education must be assessed for Canadian equivalency. A valid Saskatchewan drivers license is required, as travel, flexible hours, and transporting children or parents are part of the role.

Responsibilities include casework and permanency planning, assessing needs, developing and implementing case plans, managing placements, and ensuring childrens physical, social, cultural, psychological, and educational needs are met. You will identify referrals, develop interventions, consult with professionals, and maintain accurate documentation.
