The Village Public Works Labourer will execute the daily operations of the public works department. The Labourer will assist with service delivery within the community. The Labourer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Typical duties may include;
-Coordinating contractors to check pumps and replace them,
-Small construction projects/maintenance tasks,
-Cutting trees, filling potholes,helping to raise manholes,
-Purchasing small items required from local vendors,
-Decommissioned Landfill - pushing up brush,
-Putting up new eavestroughs
-Facilities Maintenance-cleaning shop and equipment,
-Changing oil and blades in lawn mowers,
-Cleaning
-Village Grounds/Greenspace Maintenance
Various other duties as assigned.
The Labourer will work with the administrative team, consultants, developers, contractors and utility companies constructing or providing services to land, facilities or operations of the Village. Labour will help report on project status work. The labourer will be required to comply with a positive and proactive customer service philosophy to work with public inquiries, complaints and related municipal issues. The position requires physical labour, working alone, operation of equipment and hand tools.

Qualifications
The successful applicant must
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
Class 5 drivers license
Provide a current criminal record check.
