Description

Program:      Independent Living Program        
Hours:      15 hours per week            
Start Date:     As soon as possible

SIGN Independent Living Program seeks an independent, resourceful and empathetic individual to support and improve clients quality of life. The successful individual will collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality client care and implement daily living supports, while maintaining the health, rights and dignity of individuals.

    Have a good working knowledge and understanding of mental illness
    Provide scheduled home visits and help establish daily routines with clients
    Teach and reinforce basic living skills
    Facilitate clients access to community resources

    Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
    Work individually as well as part of a team

    Strong sense of ethics and confidentiality

Qualifications and experience:
    Post-secondary education in a human service related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education
    Certifications or licences appropriate to the position
    Valid First Aid and CPR
    Valid Saskatchewan Drivers Licence
    One to two years experience working with clients dealing with long term mental illness preferred
    Current and clean RCMP criminal record and vulnerable sector check
