Description

The KC Care Driver provides safe, reliable, and culturally respectful transportation for children and families accessing Eagle Heart Centre programs, including supervised visits, daycare, school, and out-of-town services. Reporting to the KC Team Lead accountability to the Executive Director, this role is essential to ensuring access, safety, and continuity of care. Drivers are assigned regular caseloads and follow consistent shift schedules to promote reliability and trust. This role requires professionalism, adaptability, and a trauma-informed approach, especially when transporting high-needs children and families.

Commitment to EHCs mission, vision, and values, with strong cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.

Minimum one (1) year of experience in transportation, social services, or child/family support. Experience working with children, including those with high needs or behavioural concerns. Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers Licence and access to a reliable, roadworthy, insured vehicle (required).

Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and community connections.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage children respectfully.
Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and duty-to-report requirements.
Familiarity with vehicle safety, inspection protocols, and transportation regulations.
Reliability, punctuality, and accountability in all scheduling and shift responsibilities.
Capacity to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Sound judgment and problem-solving in high-pressure or unexpected situations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, ethical boundaries, and professionalism at all times.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings or weekends, and assist at community events as required.
