Description

The person selected for this position will help in the planning and coordinating of the programs and events held at the Eastview Community Centre. This is replacement one year term. You will be asked to lead, chaperone and monitor to ensure safety and a positive experience for all neighborhood youth and residents aged from 0 to 99. You will need to help with the day to day maintenance and general cleaning of the facility.

Majority of the hours for this position would be 9 am - 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. There will be additional hours as needed and as per contract agreement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plans, coordinates, and facilitates a variety of programs for all members of the neighborhood (0 to 99 years);
2. Plan & monitors large scale programs such as our after-school program and our summer camp to ensure that programming meets the needs of our local families.
3. Helps manage the daily operations of our local community centre.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:
Provided on-site by management.

Required Experience:
Knowledge of arts and craft and sports techniques;

C.P.R. and first aid/AED and Food Safe training would be an asset;

Ability to communicate effectively with youth and Centre staff and general public;

Ability to ensure the safety of the after-school participants;

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to neighborhood youth and Centre staff;

Ability to meet attendance requirements;

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
CPR and First Aid/AED and Food Safe Certification (would be an asset)

Additional Comments:
Must provide a criminal record check before commencing employment.
