Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Operate computerized weigh scales and perform scale calibration checks.
Identification and registration of vehicles into computerized system.
Receive payment, operate cash register, issue receipts, and responsible for daily transaction balancing and electronic billing information for Finance.
Submit reports on payment received and prepare payment received for deposit.
Inspect incoming waste in accordance Operations Plan.
Open and close the gates to the Landfill as required.
Measure the volume/weight of vehicles to determine the charge as set out in the fee schedule.
Sustain communication with other landfill personnel.
Advise the public of recycling and yard waste programs and the Waste Collection and Disposal Bylaw and assists in the enforcement of that Bylaw.
Monitor the Waste Diversion area.
Lock and unlock and waste oil EcoCentre and advise the foreman of items requiring special care.
Clean and maintain the Kiosk
Document information on the disposal of hydrocarbon contaminated soils and asbestos.
Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
Follow the Act, Regulations and policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ability to balance and reconcile funds received each day.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Qualifications (Education, Training and Experience)
Grade 12.
Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License
