Description

Prairie Employment Program is seeking an Employment Counsellor to join our team. This role supports individuals with multiple barriers to employment as they work toward securing, maintaining, and thriving in the workforce. The counsellor will work collaboratively as part of our service delivery team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide a range of supported employment services.  
- Manage an assigned client case load as directed by the Executive Director.  
- Guide clients throughout their employment journey.  
- Assess client employability, including barriers, disability related needs, aptitudes, personal circumstances, work history, and occupational goals.  
- Support clients in developing realistic employment goals and steps to achieve them.  
- Prepare and deliver job readiness modules one-on-one or in small groups.  
- Maintain regular contact with employers and seek out new employer partners
- Some travel required.  

Skills & Qualifications
- Strong computer, software, and reporting skills.  
- Sensitivity to diverse client needs and experiences.  
- Effective communication, planning, and organizational skills.  
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.  
- CPIC with vulnerable sector check.  
- Postsecondary education and/or relevant experience preferred.
