The Role
Reporting to the supervisor, electrical and instrumentation, the electrician utilizes their trade knowledge to ensure Cigar Lakes electrical equipment is effectively maintained and fit for service. Electricians may need to work both underground and on surface in this role. The safe, effective efforts of the tradesperson in this role plays an important part in the success of our operation.
In this role, you will:
-Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical equipment in all areas of the operation.
-Work with high voltage switching, overhead power lines, transformers, electrical distribution, and AC/AD variable speed electric drive controllers.
Required:
-valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson electrician ticket;
-minimum five years related experience in an industrial environment as a journeyperson;
-knowledge and experience with high voltage switch gear and 600 volt systems, solid state equipment (including programmable controllers), and AC and DC variable speed electric motor drive controllers;
-good communication skills;
-excellent safety attitude; and
-work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
-willingness to work underground;
-experience using SAP-based maintenance applications; and
-high voltage experience.
