The Income Assistance Programs, Service Delivery Branch supports vulnerable individuals in meeting basic needs while working toward greater selfsufficiency, offering work that is deeply impactful in the lives of clients.
The ideal candidate is citizencentered, collaborative, empathetic, and committed to supporting individuals and families facing complex barriers such as addictions, disability, unemployment, and mental health challenges. They work effectively in fastpaced, crisisdriven environments and communicate with clarity and compassion both in person and through various service channels. They build strong relationships with service providers and community organizations, demonstrate cultural understanding with emphasis on First Nations and Mtis perspectives, and engage clients using motivational interviewing and supportive techniques. They remain calm under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and apply policy, legislation, and program requirements with consistency and sound judgment.
Candidates must be able to assess needs, develop and monitor plans, organize information accurately, and support clients in budgeting and navigating services. The necessary knowledge may be obtained through human services education or experience, including social work, Indigenous social work, sociology, human justice, psychology, or related fields. A valid Class 5 drivers license and the ability to travel between communities are required.
