Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement offers an opportunity to contribute to a highperforming, servicefocused organization that coordinates procurement, infrastructure planning, property management, IT and project delivery across government. The Strategic Sourcing Branch is seeking energetic, proactive managers to lead teams within the Construction Procurement and Goods and Services Procurement units. These roles support a central procurement system that ensures fairness, consistency, best value for Saskatchewan, and strong relationships with vendors and client ministries.

The ideal candidate is an engaged, resilient, emotionally intelligent leader who brings both technical procurement expertise and strong managerial competencies. They communicate effectively, collaborate across teams, build relationships with vendors and stakeholders, and support clientcentered service delivery. They are strategic thinkers who provide informed advice on procurement approaches, ensure compliance with legislation and trade agreements, and help develop a performancedriven team culture. They mentor, coach and support staff, contribute to work planning and reporting, and create an environment that encourages shared learning and continuous improvement. They also understand project management, contract management, government decisionmaking processes, governance systems, and financial and human resource frameworks.

Key knowledge and skills include procurementleading practices, policy and process design, facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to interpret complex information and guide decisions. Typical qualifications include a combination of relevant procurement experience and education, with consideration and support provided for applicants early in their leadership careers.
