The Ministry of Agriculture offers an opportunity to support critical regulatory and tribunal functions that help uphold fairness, transparency, and compliance within Saskatchewans agricultural sector. The Board Governance and Operations Unit supports several quasijudicial tribunals, including the Farm Land Security Board, which operates at arms length from government and administers farm ownership legislation, foreclosure processes, home quarter protections, and enforcement of restrictions on foreign ownership of Saskatchewan farmland. This role contributes to ensuring responsible land ownership and maintaining the integrity of agricultural systems across the province.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly organized leader who can guide a multidisciplinary team and oversee complex operational processes with accuracy and professionalism. They bring strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders on sensitive and often divisive matters involving landowners, legal counsel, industry, and government. They demonstrate leadership, legislative interpretation skills, and the ability to support structured, welldocumented tribunal hearings.
Typical qualifications include a degree in agriculture, business, law, public policy, or a related discipline, along with several years of relevant experience. Experience with administrative tribunals is an asset.
