Description

The Parliamentary Support Division brings together the branches that directly support the proceedings of the Assembly. The division includes the Procedural Services Branch, which provides support to the Assembly in the form of procedural advice, committee support, and broadcast expertise. The Broadcast Services team, as part of Procedural Services Branch, is responsible for producing and broadcasting the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly and committees, as well as maintaining and supporting the audio and video equipment for the Chamber, committee room, and mobile broadcasts.

We are seeking a Broadcast Technologist to join our team. Reporting to the Clerk Assistant, you will play an essential role in the production and direction of broadcasts of Legislative Assembly proceedings, committee meetings, and special events, ensuring distribution to Saskatchewan residents through satellite-to-cable communities, video streaming, video over IP, and four in-house channels within the Legislative Building. Using your technical expertise, you will operate broadcast production equipment across multiple control centres, including graphics systems, camera robotics, digital sound systems, audio/video feeds, video editing tools, and IP-based equipment, and work with Ross Video production systems such as Carbonite switchers, Dashboard, and XPression, while supporting closed captioning production and in-house accessibility requirements. You will also provide general maintenance and technical support for all broadcast control centres and systems.

The position requires knowledge of broadcast production and distribution, electronics theories and principles, and demonstrated ability in the installation, operation, and maintenance of broadcast equipment. This knowledge is typically acquired through a two-year diploma in broadcast electronics, electronic systems, engineering or technology, media arts production, or a related field, combined with two years of relevant experience.
