Description

This position is offered through the support of the Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of that program (see below).

Candidates must meet the following criteria:
* must be between 16 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
* was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
* intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
* is a student in post-secondary, vocational, or technical program;
* is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
* is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Services
* Ensure proper upkeep of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
* Collaborate and work with staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.
* Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair facility, equipment, and maintenance related issues.
* Work within a schedule of preventative maintenance and recommended priority of repair work.
* Responsible for accurate, timely reports of the activities and progress of repairs and projects being completed.
* Maintain a safe and healthy environment for participants, staff, and the community.
* Meet with on-site staff to evaluate on-going and completed work.
* Provide guidance and training to staff in proper and responsible use of equipment and supplies when required.
* Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety, WHIMIS standards, and other applicable legislation.
* Complete reports and documentation clearly, accurately, in a timely manner, and within agency standard.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
