Description

The Finance Officer will work under the direction and supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations within the Finance and Operations Department, and is responsible for providing financial support and assisting in the management of the financial function for Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc.

The Finance and Operations Department are responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective administrative support system for the operations of Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. therefore the Finance Officer will be expected to work in a team environment.

General Accounting Responsibilities and Duties include the following but are not limited to:
* Manage and maintain accurate records for all daily transactions, code, record, and payment processing.
* Process and maintain purchase order system, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Process and reconcile all expense related reports.
* Code income receipts, direct deposit, and prepare bank deposits.
* Prepare and input journal entries.
* Preparing weekly cheque runs, EFT and direct deposit runs.

Qualifications
* Post-Secondary Diploma in accounting or bookkeeping or combined with 2 years of experience as a finance clerk (experience with Sage300 would be considered an asset)
* Demonstrates knowledge of the accounting cycle, excellent problem solver and possess strong communication skills.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
* Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of traditional First Nation values, beliefs and healing approaches and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures.
* Demonstrates agency values in the work they do daily with BRT6HC First Nations communities, clients, and co-workers.
* High degree of confidentiality is essential.
* A successful criminal record check and a valid drivers license
