Golden West Broadcasting has connected communities for over 65 years. We tell local stories through radio stations and digital news outlets across Western Canada. Together with Homefield, we help local businesses grow through advertising, marketing, and organizational development solutions. We are seeking a News Reporter to join our team. Reporting to the Content Director, you will find and deliver relevant stories to our audience.

The Role

-Write digital and radio news stories.
-Find story ideas, interview sources, and verify information.
-Build relationships with local stakeholders and news sources.
-Record and edit news reports for on-air delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

-You enjoy engaging with the community and learning new things.
-You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are familiar with the Canadian Press Guide.
-News reporting experience is an asset.
-Experience with Burli, audio editing software, photography, and/or videography is an asset.
-You are dedicated to your craft and willing to work outside regular business hours when required.
-You have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
