Description

Location: Will be determined based on successful applicant : Oxbow, Carlyle or Estevan
Term Date: March 1, 2026  March 1, 2027
Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week


Heres what your contribution will be as a Rapid Access Counsellor:

-Provide in person, telephone and video counselling
-Provide Single Session, Solution Focused and/or a Brief Therapy Model of Counselling to adults, children, youth, couples and families
-Advocate, support and effectively collaborate with community agencies for clients personal, physical
and emotional health

Heres what we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
-Completion of a graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education Psychology or related discipline. Relevant experience and knowledge would be considered essential, including the following:
-Experience providing counselling to adults, children, youth, families and caregivers
-Comfortable navigating consent with children, youth and their caregivers
-Ability to assess high risk clients and intervene quickly and appropriately
-Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of other mental health disorders and refer client to appropriate service provider
-Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and youth mental health and behavioral concerns
-Must be knowledgeable of community resources to make the necessary referrals
-Excellent oral, written, organizational and time management skills required
-Demonstrated commitment toward professional growth and keeping up to date with theory and practice
-Ability to perform duties in a confidential manner within a team environment.
-Reliability and flexibility to meet the demands of the position
-Effective decision-making skills
-Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
