Position Overview
The Civil Construction Manager will work remotely from a Saskatoon area home base, and travel to project sites, primarily across Saskatchewan, as required to oversee all aspects of the site-level civil construction activities. This includes managing a strong team of superintendents and crews and being a key point of contact for clients in the field. A key aspect of this role is the ability to independently perform site surveying and contribute to preliminary design and layout planning based on project requirements and field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead construction activities for civil and water & sewer projects.
Independently perform site surveying using GPS and total station equipment to support layout and project planning.
Interpret survey data and site conditions to develop or refine construction layout and design plans in collaboration with project teams.
Coordinate superintendents, crews, subcontractors, and equipment to meet production goals and timelines.
Ensure all work is executed to specifications, on budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and field supervisors to ensure alignment throughout all project phases.
Conduct site inspections, identify and resolve issues, and provide regular progress reporting.
Support project billing, documentation, and tracking deliverables.

Qualifications
7-10+ years of progressive civil construction supervisory experience, with a strong background in earthworks, water & sewer and infrastructure projects.
Proficient in surveying practices and equipment (e.g., GPS, total station), with the ability to conduct surveys independently.
Familiarity with civil design and construction layout planning
Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, utility installation, site grading, and civil construction
