Description

Hours of Work: 37.5 weeklyMonday to Friday  - flexibility to meet departments & organizations needs

The Senior Director will lead the communications and advocacy team in the development and execution of integrated communication and advocacy strategies that strengthen organizational reputation, elevate public voice, and influence systems and policy change. This position plays a critical role in positioning YWCA Regina as a trusted community leader and advocate for equity-deserving populations.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in communications, advocacy, public affairs, or related fields, including senior-level leadership responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead integrated internal and external communications strategies, including media relations, brand management, executive communications, and crisis communications.
Proven experience in advocacy, public policy, or systems-change initiatives, including campaign development and stakeholder engagement.
Deep understanding of social issues, including gender-based violence, housing and homelessness, child welfare, early learning, youth development, and systems of oppression.
Strong people leadership skills with experience leading, coaching, and developing teams in complex, mission-driven environments.
Demonstrated commitment to decolonization, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and experience working with equity-deserving communities.
Experience managing budgets, performance targets, and multiple concurrent initiatives.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, Boards, and external stakeholders.
