Responsibilities:
-Support, influence, mentor and coach mine site personnel and leadership
-Support operational leaders and teams with respect to conventional health and safety, industrial hygiene, process safety, environmental protection and radiation protection with focus on:
o Hazard identification (and risk assessments) and hazard mitigation through authorization and permit to work systems
o Work place inspections
o Incident investigation and reporting
o Change Management
o Contractor Management
-Prepare and present to mine site personnel
-Prepare and update related documentation including procedures, work instructions and forms
-Prepare and assist in reporting (and KPI development and monitoring)
-Lead permit issuance, monitoring, and sampling at the mine including:
o Radiation Protection monitoring
o Environmental Protection sampling and monitoring
-Issuance of permit to work systems such as confined space entry, hot work, ground disturbance, fall protection and radiation work permits
-Regulator communication regarding ongoing investigations, issues, and improvements
-Be an active member of the Emergency Response Team
Skills and Qualifications:
-Post Secondary Education in an applicable science field
-5+ years experience in Safety, Health, Radiation Protection, Environment and/or Regulatory
-Excellent computer skills in spreadsheets, data management systems
-Technical reading and writing skills is required
-Proficiency using SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office
-Familiarity with the operation of agencies such as CNSC, Sask Labour, etc.
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
